Ram Speed Question

Hey Guys,

This question is maybe somewhere else if so please link me I couldn't find any.

 

My question is I have a Matisse series CPU on my motherboards ram speed layout table as showen below it says the minimum speed should be 2667mhz however it deafults to 2133mhz. I'm guessing it order to get it upto the 3200mhz I need an XMP profile? 

Sorry excuse me if this is a stupid question. I have the ram in A2 B2.

Yes, XMP is what overclocks the memory to those faster speeds.

What motherboard do you have, what RAM do you have.

2133Mhz is a standard speed of DDR4 and most kits will default to it before overclocking/enabling xmp.

yes just go in bios and enable xmp. you should be able to run it at at least 3200

So basically its normal for it to default to the speed I have? Also is there much performance to gain from doing it? Is it worth it?

 

I have the ASROCK 450

Ryzen 5 3600X

GSKILLS 3200MHz DDR4

Yes, you can get up to 7-8% more performance by going from 2133 to 3200

If you get a 3200mhz kit why would you wanna run it at 2133mhz? Just enable the xmp/docp...xD

Ram is now running at 3200mhz, turns out there was a default 3200mhz profile there to change it too!
