I mean say "Whaaat?", idk what intel is thinking anymore, why would anyone buy that, I mean in winter you dont really need heater because you have CometLake, but what about summer you would need chiller to cool this down :D. Its funny how sides have switched and now intel is producing more and more FX 9590. Is anyone here who wants to buy Cometlake for real?

Holy shit that person is annoying. Over 30 seconds of random "lul so random xD" stuff in the beginning with shitty flame effects.

For those of you who doesn't want to torture yourself by looking at that painfully drawn out video of someone making unfunny jokes for 10 minutes and providing actual info for 4, this is the source on the pricing:

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/retailer-listings-intel-z490-motherboard-inflated-pricing

Seems like motherboards will be ~40-60 dollars more expensive compared to previous generation.

This data is from a Ukrainian retailer has listed several Z490 motherboards for sale. Tom's hardware took those prices, converted it into US dollars, compared it against the Z390 motherboards and then calculated the difference to see how much more expensive the new motherboards are.

Something to keep in mind is that these prices also include VAT, and are European prices (which are typically higher than US prices).

But I would take these numbers with a massive grain of salt because:

The numbers are from a single retailer in Ukraine. We don't know if other retailers will have similar prices.

We don't know why the prices have gotten higher.

We don't know if other retailers will have the same price increase.

We don't know if other countries will have the same price increase.

We don't know if these are temporary prices and it will change once the products are actually released.

We don't know the prices of the Z390 motherboards at launch (maybe they were the same but has since then dropped in price?).

And the list of other unknown factors just keeps going and going.

2:16.. this dude is talking bullshit.

Yeah, 300 to 400 watts for the CPU alone?

According to TechPowerUp, the entire computer they were using to run Cinebench consumed 146 watts with an 9900K. Does he really think a Comet Lake-S CPU will draw twice as much power as an entire 9900K system (GPU, motherboard, fans and everything)?

If I had to guess, I would say the power draw will be about half of what he said. It might top out at 200 watts in some very heavy scenarios like Cinebench (with the 10 core version that is), but I don't think it will be more than that.

For comparison, the 3700X system used 146 watts in the same test. The 3900X system uses 201 watts.

I don't think a 10 core Intel CPU will use twice as much power as a 12 core AMD chip. AMD is more efficient, but the difference isn't as big as this guy things.

I have hard time believing 9900K based system would consume under 150W running R20.

Well it does. Not sure what else to tell you.

The GPU is what draws most of the power in your typical gaming PC, and that sits pretty much idle during Cinebench.
