Hello!

 

I am looking for the next thing to upgrade on my build, I have included a Poll in this topic for people to vote, the outcome of the poll will determine what I upgrade next! 

 

This is my current build, I have been working hard on it throughout quarantine and would like some pointers on what to upgrade next and what you guys think. Thanks!

 

Before Voting, please bare in mind I am working on somewhat of a budget, this is meant to be a mid-high gaming rig, not a Dual RTX 2080ti, i9 Super Computer.

Once again, my lack of prior research lets me down. In all fairness I don't intend to Overclock atm but I see what you mean about the waste of a K.

 

RAM im assuming is the clock speed of 2400.
SSD and PSU I am not sure about.

Would you please elaborate for me?
Also what would you say the biggest bottleneck in that system is atm?

and you need a Z board to go much higher

Well Now I feel shit haha, specially cause the board, CPU and SSD is new

Could have done more research on the board but that's my own fault.

I've had the PC for 2-3 years, the PSU and Ram was from the original MSI B150A Gaming and i5-6500 build.

Okay so update for you, I am ecstatic!

 

I decided to build my PC on PartPicker just to see the price when I realised the B390 Doesn't exist... so I checked the Mobo Box and I got a Z390-H

Meaning maybe not such a flop after all!

that's a mixed flop then. Yes being Z chipset means you can run higher frequency memory (even overclocking your current kit), but the power delivery on this board is no better than the B360-H and many other entry level boards so overclocking a 9600k on this thing could be dangerous if you dont have a proper VRM fan cooling down things.

From the photos, the VRM has a fairly beefy heatsink on it, the plus the I imagine the performance fans directly above the VRM will help with cooling too.

 

Take the optimistic outlook on it! yeah I might not be able to clock to 5Ghz but I could still clock to 4.8Ghz Safely I reckon which is overkill for the stuff I play/do atm.

 

For a Somewhat Budget system I'm not disappointed what so ever!

ya i get that you should pare an oc mb with oc cpu but some times we make mistakes. it may have just come down to looks that was the deciding factor.

 

as for what is the best oc mb for a price point 99% of people wont even no that answer. who spends thousand's of hours of research to find the best of everything when building a pc.
