RAM recognized in BIOS but Windows won't boot

segusantos

I have an Asus Vivobook 15 f512da-wh31, which comes with 128gb ssd m.2 SATA storage, 4gb RAM (soldered) and a ryzen 3 3200u. I wanted to have 8gb of RAM, so I bought a 4gb RAM stick from Kingston (model: KVR24S17S6/4). Before installing it, I updated the BIOS. However, after having installed the module, Windows 10 Home Edition wouldn't boot but when I entered the BIOS all 8gb of RAM where there, recognized. Then, I tried booting Ubuntu from USB and everything went normal. I also tried disabling secure boot, but Windows didn't boot either. To clarify, the laptop works normally when I use it without the new 4gb RAM module. Do you have an idea of what can be causing this problem? Thanks in advance.

I have no clue. Maybe try re-installing windows from bootable media?

(and although I highly doubt it, make sure it's not 32-bit windows)
