In ear headphones with removable cable

Liker

Hey all!

My 1more Triple drivers just stopped working yesterday due to cable torsion that ended up splitting one of the cables. I really liked the sound they produced, especially for that price but after always having issues with cables in the past, I’m kind of done with headphones that don’t have detachable cables. (This is also the reason I got some AKG K240 for at home).

If I were to get wireless ones I would probably go with Airpods Pro but I’m curious what wired in ear headphones you guys would recommend (<200CAD) where the cable is detachable though.

Cheers!

Don't think any of them exist. In-ears need to be small and light, there's just no room for a connector.

Yeah but they're not wireless. Wireless AND connector is what isn't really possible (and what the OP asked for).

Ah yeah I don't think that exists I agree I haven't seen that before. But seeing what he wrote it does seem he just wants iems with a detachable cable not necessarily wireless

sense you are within north america, check out Mackie's MP series or audio technica's E40 E50 series.

Also, if you want to make the mackies wireless, The MP-BTA BT adapter will just do that.

If you live in Canada, go to Visions Electronics man! Lots of great deals on headphones and speakers there. I mean look at this:

I can vouch for the vouch for the KEF M100. But the cable isn't detachable.

I don’t mind if they are IEMs size, as long as it is something like that

They don’t have to be wirless AND connector. Just connector is enough for me. I just want to be able to replace the cable if that breaks and not buy a compeltely new set of earphones

Has anybody had any experience with KZ or CCA? The price and number of drivers can seem appealing at first glance but I don't know if they will be better or similar that a decent single dynamic driver ?!

A single, well made driver will be much better than multiple lower quality drivers when it comes to IEM's. The driver doesn't have to work hard to obtain a decent frequency response as it is only pressuring a small amount of air between its diaphragm and the actual cilia in your ear which turn acoustic energy into small electrical impulses for you to hear.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Rice certainly knows more about earphones than I do so take this with a grain of salt but I'm happily using KZ inears for all my inear needs from Gym to stage shows (for backing/click tracks). Mine are single driver and I have no experience with their multi-driver earphones but the comfort, sound quality and build quality are far better than the price tag suggests (in my opinion), besides, when I did eventually manage to break a set (by slamming it in my car door multiple times, don't ask) I was only out $20 and they truly owed me nothing.

The KZ ES4 ain't half bad if you want to listen to classic rock and aren't terribly fussy about sound quality.

My overall experience with KZ has been lackluster however. Reason: V-shaped tuning with screaming sibilant highs, weak hollow mids and booming bass. Result: everything takes the backstage to the cymbal crashes. Tssss. Tssss. Tssss !!!

The ES4 is somewhat of an exception. The V shaped tuning is toned down 10 notches. It becomes actually pleasant. But the ES4 still sounds like a decent pair of $40 earphones. They're about $10. They're basically Koss Porta Pros in IEM form. Exact same sound and performance.
