I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Values like 127 or 255/256 are incorrect, they're just badly read values.  127 is 0111 1111 in binary,  or 7 out of 8 bits set to 1... a typical default value for some information in memory (which is probably never updated)

Put your finger on the chipset heatsink while your computer runs (chipset is that chip to the right of pci-e slots)

If you can keep the finger on the heatsink, the temperature is probably under 60 degrees celsius

if you can't keep the finger for more than a few seconds and you don't get burned, it's under 80-90 degrees

If your skin remains on the heatsink or can't keep finger more than 2-3 seconds, it's above 100 degrees.

A chipset typically can work at up to 80-90 degrees celsius continuously

Chipset is under the heatsink circled in fluorescent green.  Put the finger on the metal bit, if you can keep the finger there the it's not hot enough and you don't need to worry about it.

That heatsink uses two plastic clips with some springs to stay locked in place.  Rarely but it happens for those clips to break or for a clip to become loose and then that metal heatsink no longer touches properly the chipset under it.

If you want you can take off those clips and remove heatsink and replace thermal paste for slightly better cooling.

If the clips are broken you could replace those clips with some regular screws.... put some plastic washers on the back of the board, insert screws through,  put spring, washers, then tighten nut until heatsink stays in good contact with chipset.

Hello so my chipset is heating up to 120c° I think that should not be happening. Why is that how can i fix it?

probably a broken sensor, imo.

Some will display that at startup, and stay at that temp forever. obviously they aren't that hot, but the sensor is not correct.

well if the heatsink itself is hot, then its doing its job by pulling heat away from the chip.

i'd think logically the problem isn't with the TIM but with case airflow, if indeed it is hot.

My case is Cooler Master HAF 922 the airflow is good 200mm intake 200mm exaust and another 120mm for that.

can you verify that the physical heat is that bad?

i just can't for the life of me think of anything that would cause your chipset to get that hot.

my finger not being able to be on that heatsink for more than a second is the verification :DD And the pc lags

maybe someone else has some ideas.

Bios is latest. I think im gona buy and i7 with a new motherboard because my i3 and this motherboard is not worth fixing

that's one way to fix it, lol.

haswell is old and busted anyway. lots of times i've just replaced things because it was easier than troubleshooting a broken part.

or a car.

As long as you don't get an i5, and you overclock it, it should be pretty good.

Why no i5??

if its for gaming, you'll want the hyperthreading on a 4-core chip.

i suppose if its not gaming, then anything works
