3900X Temp

At what temperature should I worry about this being to hot? I have a Noctua NH-D15 cooling it.

Worry if it's hitting 85-90*C or higher under heavy load.

What are your temps currently like?

AMD specifies 95°C as max temp. so let's say 80°C and under are very safe. The cooler is great though so it's probably even less.

95c is max temp before throttle.

It is running between 80 and 85 now.

What is your case's fan setup and what is your ambient temperature? (temperature in the room the PC is sitting in).

Also, I assuming this 80-85 is in Celcius and under an all-core load, not overclocked?

What are you using to check your temps?

Case is a Phanteks Pro M with 3 intake 1 out fan.

Located in basement with about 68 F room temp

It is not overclocked

Hm well it sounds like you have a good setup there, have you adjusted the fan curve in the bios?

 

You could also try to remove the dustfilter from the front panel and see if it helps.

Yes but that made me think I need to see if the MSI software is overriding the bios settings.  I had a 3600 installed that was overclocked with the Dragon software it might be overclocking the 3900x also.

Well I've never used the Dragon Software, so I can't help you there but it's worth a shot looking into it.

That was my problem running 53 C at 86% load now

Now I can start to play with overclocking the cpu a little.
