Noctua NH-D15 Chromax + LANCOOL II + ROG X470-F

Karbust

Hello

I'm thinking about upgrading my case and cpu cooler.

I'm using the Asus ROG X470-F with Ryzen 7 2700X (stock cooler) and the 4 RAM slots populated with G.Skill Trident Z.

Can I buy the Lian Li LANCOOL II and have no problems with the NH-D15 Chromax?

Thank you

clearance: 176mm

cooler: 165mm

-> YES! In my opinion the best way to cool a CPU. And yes: Better than AIOs and most custom loops :D

Ony thing is that you could end up having to move the outside fan up a bit to make clearance for the RAM. But even running the noc with one fan will work fine for this chip!

If you have short ram. I could not run 2nd fan on the cooler in this case.

The 176mm does not take into consideration the height of the ram. Cooler with center fan does clear. But first push fan sits on top of ram. To the real number you are looking for is ram height plus the dimension of the 140mm fan.

I made some calculations, my ram is about 44 ~ 45mm tall, I would need a 178 ~ 179mm clearance for the cooler and double fan, that case only goes up to 175mm.

I already choose another case that has 190mm clearance for cpu cooler...

Thank you anyway

It fits fine. Here's an example: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/wf6scf
