Hi guys I ahve a quesion for compatibility I need to build an emergency PC due to the pc failure so I try to put together what I can save from my current pc. So here's the current spec that I have now

-MB: B450I Aorus Pro Wifi AMD AM4 mini-ITX Motherboard

-Processor: Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6GHz 6 Core AM4

-RAM: Corsair Dominator DOMINATOR® PLATINUM 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 (https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/DOMINATOR®-PLATINUM-16GB-(2-x-8GB)-DDR4-DRAM-3000MHz-C15-Memory-Kit/p/CMD16GX4M2B3000C15#tab-tech-specs)

-GPU: GTX 1070

-PSU: SuperNOVA 850 G+ 80 Plus Gold 850W ATX Fully Modular Power Supply

*note: My RAM and GPU is the only parts that i can save from the failure.

My biggest question is the RAM gonna be compatible with any others parts?

Thanks

I'm trying to have it $500 less since I'm gonna be using my old parts as well.

The RAM should be fine, but you can look on corsairs webpage for this product and look at compatibility. It really depends on when you bought it, because if it was before at least ryzen first gen, (maybe, maybe not because you have a 1070, at least I think) then the RAM may not be totally great with the CPU, but still work, but if released after (and has an ryzen processor on the compat. list) , it should be 100% good with ryzen. If it could get past ryzen first-gen, it could get past literally anything.

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

IS the case still usable?

If we get a smaller power supply that helps the budget as well

I believe when I bought my old system it was 2016.

So From my understanding, everything but the GPU, RAM, and Case needs to be replaced, so here's what I came up with.

Obviously quite a bit of wiggle room on this, but this should be a good starting point.

Dominator Platinums from 2016 should be compatible with ryzen chips.

Without needing to buy storage, you can put that money towards an R5 3600.

Or you could sell the 1070 and buy a new GPU.

What GPU do you think will be great? Tho I think I'm trying to get whatever that I have for now and work it out because I need to have my system back on.

Assuming you get $150 for it on ebay, which seems to be the going price right now.

Without the storage, we have $150 to play with from the budget, $300 after the GPU sale. That gives us 3 options for new cards, in price order:

GTX 1660Ti $260+

RX 5600XT $270+

RTX 2060 $300+

Just some ideas.

Not a bad idea just to stand pat either. The 1070 is still a very respectable card

yeah I probably will keep it at the moment until I do the major upgrade. btw, what do you think of this mb

B450 Tomahawk Max AMD AM4 ATX

and also currently I'm not running my system with m.2 should I upgrade it to m.2?

but still at the budget concern.

That is a great Mobo, just went with ITX because that was the form factor from your list.

M.2 isn't necessary. As long as you have an SSD as your system drive, then it's all good.
