I only have a 8pin GPU cable and need a 8+6 for new graphics card

The PSU i have currently only has a 8 pin power cable for the GPU. The graphics card i ordered has a 8pin + 6pin. I found a adapter cable to change a 8pin cable to two 8pin (6+2's) connectors. Looking at cables from power supplies that have 8+6 power connectors it looks like the 6pin is just piggy backed off of the 8pin which is the same as what happens on this adapter. If you know if this will work or something else i can do please let me know.

Buy a new power supply, If your power supply doesn't have two 8 pins it probably doesn't have the rated output to power a card that needs them.

You shouldnt do that. those daisy chained cables use wires thick enough to satisfy power spec of 2 8pins, yours may not.
