Pcie slot ripped off

mod960

So I was doing some cable management and I somehow managed to rip off the pcie x slot while trying to uninstall my gpu. A few of the pins are bent and one even came off with the black slot. I tried switching on the PC but I heard a faint static noise coming from around that area on my motherboard. I can't really afford a new motherboard right now so do you think I should continue using my PC and ignore the noise or what??

For reference it's a

no

shelve the pc until you can properly fix it. or fry it trying to save money and spend more money later fixing all the extra damage running it costs

No don't fire up the pc at all with the broken slot.

If you broke a slot, try another, and never use that slot again.

Gpu doesn't have to be in slot 1.

if you broke the PCIe slot your only option that will work is for you to buy a new motherboard.
