I am checking it now, trying to reproduce the problem,

It could be that AMDs drivers are still broken (Steve from GamersNexus talked with AMD about it half a year ago),

The broken drivers did cause black screens and green screens.

Thanks for looking into this for me. It feels like I got ripped off. Feels like I should've went with a 2070
Im uninstalling the AMD drivers and doing a clean install

they fixed 99% of  them with 2020.

Just finished generating optimized media with the settings you used,I tried few times with different videos with no problems.

It could be that the AMD driver issues are not solved yet,Your GPU is dropping frames after all.

Also Resolve can use NVENC which gives a nice boost to performance for NVIDIA GPUs (Only works with the studio version of Resolve).

I doubt it,They still can't finish the GPUPI benchmark without crashing or giving errors,no single NAVI GPU can finish the benchmark (Which is very sensitive to stability issues, including driver stability issues)...

A VII still crushes all but this gen titain card.

they fixed most not all. This is a pretty common use case.

DDU and install the newest GPU drivers.

I am not sure if a Radeon VII can pass the benchmark with current drivers but it can with older drivers,It's not hard to find proof for it if you search among overclocking world records:

Can you check your event viewer? or save the Administrative Events and upload it here.

Also try use different cache drive and see if issue persist.

Oddly enough it works fine when rendering a video but not when generating optimized media

DDU and install the newest GPU drivers.

I ran DDU and installed, still having issues, oddly enough it generated optimized media after the fresh install perfectly fine when I selected up to 6 videos. Then I did another 6 and another 3 which worked great. After I did it one more time it failed so Im assuming whatever it is has to build up.

that sounds like a weird driver/program interaction. nothing else causes this?
