Ryzen 7 1700X freezing while gaming, i was playing warzone and it froze while at 72,53 celcius. The next morning it froze and it was 70 celcius. Today it froze again and it was 62 celcius. It has frozen twice today, it has frozen like 30 times in 4 days. My specs are:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X

Motherboard: ROG STRIX B350-F Gaming

GPU: GTX 1660 6GB TUF Gaming Advanced Edition.

PSU: Some corsairs 450w psu.

RAM: HyperX 16GB/2x8gb i dont remember the mhz.

What makes you so sure that it's the CPU that's causing the freezing?

Revert any overclocks you may have applied, including a XMP memory profile.

What exact Corsair 450W PSU is it?

and i think that its the cpu cause it froze while its over 60 celcius. the gpu has no problems so far.

60C is not even close to warrant a shutdown of the system. Modern CPUs start throttling back at around 95C, and will shut down if they reach 100+C.

If it is like the one in the picture, with the orange label, then it's very likely that that's causing your crashing. The old VS PSUs from Corsair were terrible. Try setting your GPU's power limit to 50% or however low it can go with something like MSI Afterburner. The 1660S is a fairly low-power card anyway but there's a chance that this might show whether the PSU is causing this issue or not. If lowering the power limit fixes it, then it's very likely the PSU.

yeah but my cpu is idling above 40 celcius, and i have a water cooler. Corsair H110i.

What idle temps would you expect, exactly? 40C is perfectly fine.

it was under 40 like 2 months ago. its idling at 46 celcius at the moment. 2minutes ago it was above 50.

Maybe your ambient temperatures were lower two months ago, considering it was winter?

Remount the cooler and replace the thermal paste if you're so worried that that's a problem, but I still don't get why you're so fixated on your CPU being faulty.

Look, I can't help you if you won't help yourself. Look up what normal temps for a CPU are, and try lowering the GPU's power limit, as I've mentioned above. I really wouldn't be so sure that no other components have any problems, considering your PSU.

Okay so i guess the normal idling temperature is 38-45, and under load the max is 95 but usually 70-85. So my temperatures are okay i think. And im gonna lower my GPU's power limit soon.

I lowered my GPU's power limit to 70percent in gpu tweak 2, still froze.

That PSU is not a good quality 450w unit. It is most likely not being able to supply enough power to your components during heavy use, hence freezing/shutting off.

Depends on how much you're looking to spend. A good 550W unit should be enough, so at least a CX550 from Corsair I'd say.

Check the tier list here, I'd get a B+ or better for your system:

It's a good unit, but something like a Corsair RMx would be better, so I'd check for pricing on that too.

Also, you'd be fine with a 550W unit, you don't really need 750W.

yeah but if i upgrade my build in future thats why im looking forward to buy a 600-750W psu.
