Massdrop Vast panel repair?

In short, I bought a 3440×1440 35" Ultrawide monitor, which apparently is just a Nordic rebrand of the Massdrop Vast. Panel had a crack in it, so I called for RMA. No issue there, I'm being sent a new, different but comparable monitor. However, since I didn't have to actually return the old one, I was wondering if I could do anything with it.

 

Digging round it seems I might be able to buy a new panel, but the price is fairly steep at 250-300$ total. Is that even worth it? Alternatively I could salvage and sell off the power and display boards. Could basically give it away since it didn't cost me anything. Or should I just send it for recycling and be happy?
