Basic upgrade opinions ryzen/bios related

Hi all

First time user here.

I built ny pc last year (april) wanting to wait for ryzen 3000 to release.

Meshify c

Msi tomahawk b450

R5 1500x

Evga 550w psu gold+

Rog strix 1070ti

2x8gb 3000mghz ram

Acer 1440p 144hz monitor.

Been happy with 1440p high settings at 60hz in most titles (re2 , read dead2, gtav, witcher 3)

Now I have decided to make the most of my monitor and want to game at 100fsp plus.

I have updated my bios to the latest with my current 1500x installed.

Options

A) install r53600 and upgrade ram to 3400

B)install r5 2600

C) keep 1500x

All options will include a rtx 2070 super. Which do you think will meet my needs ?

Any other suggestions are welcome, im leaning more towards the 2600 with 2070s but am tempted by the 3600

yeah that's the one. actually you're better off downloading it directly from the amd website.

Hi mate

I have installed my new cpu. The pc would not boot.

Fearing I had installed the CPU incorrectly, I took it out again, cleaned it and reapplied thermal paste.

Now the pc wont even turn on.

Psu is supplying power, gpu light is on.

All mains power is working

Tried to turn off psu power button, wait and retry.

Nothing.

Wont even turn on at all.

All cables still plugged in, checked psu cables and all are inplace.

What could this be ? The pc was unplugged during cpu change.

Still nothing. Wont even power on.

Do you think something in the way I installed the cpu could be the issue ?

Yes

First it started but didnt post

Tried again, wont even turn on. No fans nothing. But gpu has power to it (led) so presume the mobo is distributing power correctly.

Reset cmos, still wont power on.

Even installed my 1500x again and wont power on.

I wonder if my psu has failed.

The only other thing I did was wipe the cable shroud ( which hides the psu cables and the bottom of the case) with a cloth to remove dust.

no idea other than try to take everything apart and re-build it. maybe try just with 1 ram stick?
