'Windows reserved' showing as 100% fragmented - defrag won't fix

Hi,

 

So my 'Windows reserved' drive is showing as 100% fragmented, I've ran defrag numerous times but it continues to show up as fragmented. Is this an issue? btw, Windows 10 is installed on a SSD and I've run trim on it...

You don't need to defragment an SSD, in fact it could even damage the drive. SSDs can pull data from anywhere on the drive at the same speed, therefore there would be no point in defragmenting an SSD.

Windows reserved is not intended to be defragmented, even on a hard drive. But, don't defrag an SSD. At best, it does not provide a speed improvement.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

Okay, then I won't worry about it. Thanks for the help!

 

It's strange that windows even gives me the option to defrag without a warning...unless it's allocating the 'windows reserved' space on one of my hdd's...
