I saw another one. https://www.scdkey.com/ still the same?

If one seller offers something for $100 and another offers if for $99, that's basic marketing. It the other seller offers it for $1, then it shouldn't be hard to see that something is fishy. So simply put: If you find a key seller online and their prices are way cheaper then the official price... yep, it's a gray market.

What could be the worst scenario if its a grey market?

You could end up with one of the following

  • Key purchased using stolen credit card information, which are usually blocked fairly quickly
  • Key that has a time limit, typically testing keys
  • Key that is one time use, typically virtual instance keys
  • Key that is perfectly fine, typically oem and business keys

You will also not get any support from Microsoft and attempting to do so could result in your key being deactivated for being used outside of its original licensing agreement.

IANAL, but if they're selling keys that were acquired by illegitimate means and you buy them, it's essentially the same as buying any other stolen goods. Could be a fine, could be a prison sentence. In practice, as far as I'm aware, usually nothing happens to you, at worst the seller gets shut down and the keys get disabled.

@ReadyPlayerOne07  Anything you find that sells Win10 at any price other than MSRP is going to be of the grey market type.

**Purchase at your own risk.**

The best deal is still to just continue free upgrading your old Windows 7 or 8 retail (movable) key over and over so long as they continue allowing it.  The upgrade process grants you an OEM (non-movable) license for 10 on the machine it's used, which then frees up to old key to be used again on another machine.  Rinse and repeat lol

If you have a Windows 7 or Windows 8 key, you might be able to activate Windows 10 with it.

I built my PC last year and used my Windows 8 Pro Upgrade Key, that I got for 15$ from Microsoft (Win8 upgrade release promo for Win7 users). It activated Win10 without any issues and I had not used said key to activate Win10 before either since I had gone back to Win7 on my old PC.

That said, you could take your chances on Ebay, pay with paypal and get your money back if the key turn out to be fake.

What @Ryan_Vickers and @TetraSky said.

I have a few Windows 7 pro keys I got from my last workplace that I keep just for that, I originally kept the keys in case I needed to install Win7 on a PC but I discovered they work to activate Win10, so I use them for that now (the keys were from old builds from my previous workplace that were broken and thrown away, I got the keys for free after asking my boss, don't "grab" Windows 7 keys from your workplace without first making sure it's ok to do so).
