What's your system being used for?

You can just call Microsoft to renew your key and say you're upgrading.

This, Microsoft knows there are enthusiasts who upgrade often. The key is tied to your hardware and technically you would have to buy another copy. But since Microsoft is generous they let you use the same key back for upgrades. Just have to call them and explain the situation.

no z87? If you only have the windows key activated on one pc at a time it should work, there's always the backup of calling MS support. I would go intel, because I like intel boards and the i5 is a beast cpu for gaming. If your are doing editing and recording though the AMD option would be better.

Spoiler

Corsair 400C- Intel i7 6700- Gigabyte Gaming 6- GTX 1080 Founders Ed. - Intel 530 120GB + 2xWD 1TB + Adata 610 256GB- 16GB 2400MHz G.Skill- Evga G2 650 PSU- Corsair H110- ASUS PB278Q- Dell u2412m- Logitech G710+ - Logitech g700 - Sennheiser PC350 SE/598se

Is it just me or is Grammar slowly becoming extinct on LTT?

Its mainly gaming surfing the web and some photoshop and video editing with sony vegas. And the fact that microsoft will do that is awesome. That really helps a lot.

Alright.

Btw, there's no point getting a k series cpu if you're not oc'ing.

What are the rest of your specs?

That's my conflict. It's mainly for gaming however I do record and edit. Intel will do great in games but the extra cores help with certain programs.

Currently this is my complete setup. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2S1rX

Also I'm on the fence of OCing. I want to but I'm a bit scared that I will royally screw something up.

Oc'ing is really easy nowadays. You'd have to be very foolish to mess it up.

What's the reason behind upgrading from the 6300? You should oc it if you haven't already.

I'v been wanting to move over intel for a bit now. For the price the 6300 is great for the $120 price but in games like arma it just doesn't seem to cut it.

In that case, you should probably get the 4670k and oc for the higher clocks http://pcpartpicker.com/p/12a0O
