confused about g.skill ram compatibility

I was checking my pc partlist to see if everything was compatible and found out that my RAM was not compatible with my motherboard.

but I was kinda confused because the ram that was compatible was basicly the same as the one that was not compatible.

motherboard: Asus ROG strix z390-E gaming

Ram: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GTZR

on the qvl of the motherboard it only shows the same name of ram but the R from the GTZR on the end is not there.

can somebody that knows how this works please help me.

thx for help in advance

It'll work.  Just means they haven't tested that exact SKU is all.  G. Skill isn't going to make Trident Z that won't work.

I have had the same problems before when picking a motherboard and ram combo.

in my experience they almost always work even with extra letters and whatnot. My understanding of these lists is they just contain ram they have checked and verified as working on the board.

There are so many slightly different models of ram from the same company that they can’t check them all though. The R in this case probably means RGB.

TL:DR it should work totally fine they just haven’t explicitly checked that exact model of ram
