I have never used mechanical gaming keyboard before as I’ve always had a laptop. Looking into the mechanical keyboard Amazon has the steelseries Apex 7 with cherry Mx red switches for 111 USD. I have also been recommended to look at the corsair K70 keyboard with the cherry mx speed switches. If anyone has any recommendations on mechanical keyboards please let me know. My preferred budget is anything under $180 USD but if it is worth it I can go up to about $200 USD. Thank you for all your consideration.

corsair's K series are good ones, personally i don't like them because of how easily it registers a button press and how little force is needed to push the buttons down on some of the corsair keyboards i've tried using.

but remember to search up a youtube video of the sound that the keyboard makes and how loud it is, since some keyboards sound annoying (to me) and some are too loud and could be annoying to listhen to by others, (if that's a concern)

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.

keep in mind that helping with problems is hard if you aren't specific and detailed.

i'm also not a professional, (yet) so make sure to personally verify important information as i could be wrong.

Consider this one https://drop.com/buy/drop-ctrl-mechanical-keyboard Or this one https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Huntsman-Tournament-Tenkeyless-Keyboard/dp/B07V25YPVW/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Razer+Huntsman+Tournament+Edition+TKL&qid=1584609478&s=electronics&sr=1-1 it's literally only good keyboard Razer makes.

I figure you want rgb, if not, there are other options. I would strongly advise against buying Corsair boards, they have great marketing and plenty of fanboys, but keyboards they make only seem great if you don't compare them to better products.

Drop ctrl is great but If you want something cheaper or dislike Razer keyboard, look into GMMK or Hyper X keyboards.Drop Ctrl and GMMk are hotswaps which means you can easily change switches in a matter of minutes and it opens up your switch options greatly, you're not limited to mediocre cherry offerings. Even Linus and Co - big pushers of cherry superiority now agree that there are many better alternatives :

Maybe you could look into ducky, durgod ... and such keyboards.  They usually have good reviews that you can watch on YouTube.  Also watch and read about the switches.  There's a lot of different type and not all might suit your need.

I was considering the Logitech gpro at some point but brand new it's expensive.  I saw some used ones around 80$ CAD but I still pass and got a redragon which I know is really not in the same class but gets the job done ... except that the blue switches are really annoying and I'm looking for another solution right now.
