Does old router affect wifi strength?

Recently my wifi has been slower and sometime the signal is weaker. The router I use is the isp provided router and i have been using it for around 2 years.

and the question is does it affect the wifi strength

i think its access point. i got phone and ethernet plugged to the router

2 years for a router/AP isn't long in terms of it's effective lifespan. Although newer/better models will come out in that time your Wi-Fi should not degrade by any noticeable amount in that time unless there's a hardware problem with it.
