PCI Express power addition

hi there, i have a MB which has a pci 16 data but only pci 8 power can i use a special card to add power to make the power pci16 (if so where can i buy one)

can't say i've ever heard of a slot like that that would include all the correct pins to transfer data at x16 speeds but ignore the actual power standard the slot requires.

whats getting put into the slot?

Power delivery for an 8x slot = that of a 16x slot.

The 75W of power delivered over PCIe comes from the first batch of pins before the notch in the card edge that defines the card/slot as a 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x or 16x card/slot.

Every card gets the same 75W of power from the slot, all that differs is the physical length of the data side of the card edge, the length of the slot and how much of the slot is wired up for what particular data throughput of whichever version of PCIe it is (eg: PCIe 3.0 16x card will fit and work in any 16x slot even if the slot is only wired for something like PCIe 2.0 8x, the card will throttle itself to transfer data at PCIe 2.0 8x throughput).

x4 or below can be 25w max, it's not required by spec to do over that even though some boards allow that

i am unable to use my gtx1050ti in it but looked at other ones and they can, its a dell poweredge T110 II, looked online and i found the info that it could work
