So I have this recently bought gpu "Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ 8gb Special Edition". It requires a 8 pin and a 6 pin connector. But my PSU "Dell 525w 6w651" of the Precision T3500 has only 1*6 pin connector.

Before I had a MSI Gtx 560 SE ,Which required 2*6 pin connectors. I had an adaptor SATA to 6pin and it worked exellently without any issues for over 3 years.

But as I recently(after buying rx580) came to know that Sata only provides 50w on 12v.(That's why gtx 560 worked well.)

But for RX580, I was thinking maybe if I could use an adaptor 6pin to eight pin for the 1*6 pin psu PCI-E and use the SATA to 6pin to power it..

I don't have budget to buy a new PSU at the moment.

So, Can I run this for say what 2-3 months.

I am aware of this thing also that if power supply need to use adaptors means its not built for such condition. But I need to wait for making budget for New suitable psu.

Thanks.

Do not use that psu.

Corsair cx 450-550w is decent.

Be quiet 450w pure power 11 is decent too

Do not use SATA > PCIe adapters. Very bad idea.

The CX450 only has a single 8pin PCIe connector. He'll need the CX550 for the two PCIe connectors the card uses.
