Not much, they might accidentally take a couple photos, but the phones would either be ignored because they would be quite boring to pets, or end up broken if they did decide to muck about with them.

If you gave a phone to a pet, they might chew or piss on it and potentially hurt themselves if they reach the battery... Or by breaking the glass.

An IoT collar would be more useful, for things like your pet's location history, heart rate to know if they are stressed out or not, etc.

They’ve sort of done this.  Pets can’t talk and have no use for screens, but a while back someone did a cat collar that had tracking and took video.  Sort of only all the bad parts of phones.  What they discovered was that domestic cats that were let outside killed a lot more small animals and had much wider ranges than was previously thought.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
