Hello,

I need something that is currently not on the market, but it would make a huge difference for improving old Laptops:

I want to have a Sata Splitting Adapter that turns one SATA Port (Data+Energy) into two Sata  (Data+Energy) Ports. I know that SATA is not fast and that it would decrease the speed even more but Lots of Laptops have enough space for SSDs but not a second Sata Port.

I am looking forward for your advanced knowledge!

Greetings!

I'm about 95% sure that's not how that works. SATA isn't like a headphone jack, you can't just split out the connector and attach another drive. You'd need to attach both to a board that aggregated both drives and tricked the computer into believing it was the same size as both drives together. Basically a RAID card but with a SATA connector.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

SATA is a 1 device 1 port thing.

You can't split it like a USB.

Good news if you have very old laptop with CD Drive, you can strip the cd drive in place of a HDD.

Google "<Your laptop model here> HDD Caddy"

You can use a sata multipler to split sata, but its often not supported.

Look at products like this one https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Dual-SATA-Adapter-RAID/dp/B018AOZ9QM

What is your goal? normally you just don't have space in your laptop for the drives to fit.
