If 16 GB is enough for you then there is no reason to get 32 GB. 16 GB 3600 Mhz will help slightly in games but it's probably not worth the extra money since you already have 3000 mhz ram.

i have heard ram speeds help alot more with ryzen cpus though, and ive seen some people gain 100-200 fps in fortnite just from enabling xmp and having ram speeds increase by like 600mhz

There's no way anyone had that big of an FPS jump.

No you didn't.  And those people didn't get 100-200 fps increases either.

You get a small bump, 5%-8% or so depending.

To answer you tho, stay at 16GB 3000MHz and maybe OC the RAM a bit if you want.  Otherwise just enjoy it and rock on.

How many fps do you get in Fortnite now?  What resolution/settings are you runing?

Have you tried tooling around with manual overclocking on your RAM? Just because it's rated for 3000MHz doesn't mean it can't go further. From what I understand, Zen likes timings more than frequency (though both help, of course). If you're running XMP the timings are probably super loose, based off my experience.

Install CPU-Z if you don't have it already, and show us the memory tab. It should look something like this, but with different numbers. (Do note these are the XMP values for my ram, which are really loose. I haven't reapplied my OC, havent had the time to mess with it)

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

So thats 3000MHz CAS16 with slightly tighter timings. Watch some videos on how to OC RAM, and work on bringing those timings down now.
