Hello, I am about to change to a new graphics card from my old trusty GF 750 TI and I got like two propositions, to Im not sure which one will be better for streams.

GF 1660 Ti 6GB or RX580 Nitro +. First one o think has better codec(nvenc, tho I might be wrong) but the second one is like 1/3 cheaper. So, my question is if I can get decent quality stream on RX580 using OBS ? Thanks in advance.

Go with the RX 580.

The AMF encoder on the Polaris cards is good enough.

However, unless you plan to sell it, you could also just leave the 750ti in the computer in a 2nd slot and configure that in OBS for nvenc encoding only.

There's usually a pci-e x16 slot on most motherboards that has 4 pci-e lanes from the chipset, on lots of AM4 boards. That's plenty of bandwidth for hardware encoding.

Mariushm thanks for the idea, but Im afraid I don't have place for second card in computer, but if encoder is good, thats what I need, like i said I need something that will have god encoding for streams, Boggy thas for your suggestion, I didnt know there is a super version, I will check it out and think about it, from the quick research is just marginally more expensive than rx580.

I think that the 1660 super also has the new nvenc encoder which would be a much better streaming option.

Ok the nvidia site even says it includes the new Turing nvenc improvements... that means it is on par with h264 medium.

Oh, thank you, I checked this super version of 1660, and it looks like good compromise between price and what I actually need - good stream codec plus reasonable pricing. Thanks.
