ASUS Hero VI x370 with 3700x or 3800X

I am thinking of upgrading my CPU and would like to hear what you guys think.

Are there people who are running 3700X/3800X on a Asus Hero VI MBO and how is working out for you?

My current setup is:

Asus Hero VI with latest BIOS

Ryzen 1700 at stock speeds

2x8 Trident Z DDR4 at 3200 XMP

Kraken x52

ASUS 2080 Super Advanced

Samsung EVO 500GB M.2

4xSata HDD

Seasonic Ultra Platinum 650W

Possible problematic areas here would be:

1.I don't plan on OC-ing the CPUs but I want to hear from people who are running the same setup. Any issues?

2. if I go for the 3800X will the power supply suffice since the TDP is 105W and not 65W?

Yeah the PSU will be enough, you can actually run a 3950X on a 450W PSU with an RTX 2080 ti: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg6pz7YTxyA&t=1s

Im not saying its recommended, but you can.

So I think you will be safe with a 650W PSU ^^

I have the x370 Crosshair VI Hero myself with the 3700x and have zero issues with it. Had an 1800x in it before.

That will get you thinking but one thing i noticed on non manual oc it won't boost higher than some run  cpu-z score i did before so would this be degradation hope not!?

That sounds good :) The 3800X is currently on sale on Amazon.co.uk for 299GPB which is a steal imo. Usually it's around 400GPB and I was thinking of upping my CPU without the MBO.

Which BIOS are you running? I am on the latest - are there any issues with any particular version - or is it good to go?

Nice, that's the same one I am at now. OK, so I think I'll grab the 3800X - it's way too tempting and will be a good combo with my 2080 Super ?

What are your Temps under load and idle? I read a lot of stuff of 3800x running at 85 under load and 50 on idle. Is that common?

Well, for some reason, it depends... One day it gets up to 75/80°C, the day after, it won't go higher than 65/70°C doing the same thing. I definitly don't understand that behaviour... But, that's the way mine is.

Should work fine, just make sure you update the motherboard's bios first. Also the power supply is fine.

Same behavior here this is weird hey at least x370 rog has plenty of option for it in the bios.
