Looking for a Skylake compatible motherboard, full ATX under £40 if possible

Tieox

As per the title, been given a really tight budget for a motherboard/case.  I have all the other components here (CPU/RAM/PSU etc) from old builds that will be going into this mobo/case.

Based in the UK, and would prefer delivery.  As for features so long as it takes a Intel i5 6600 I am fine, I've 2x4GB DDR4 2133mhz dimms here, and a R9 390 waiting to go in.

Would just appreciate some help as I am not used to searching on such a tight budget of only £50.

PC - NZXT H510 Elite, Ryzen 5600, 16GB DDR3200 2x8GB, EVGA 3070 FTW3 Ultra, Asus VG278HQ 165hz,

Mac - 1.4ghz i5, 4GB DDR3 1600mhz, Intel HD 5000.  x2

Endlessly wishing for a BBQ in space.

There might be some H110/H110M boards out there new/new old-stock, but those are all going to be the DS3H caliber garbage. Your best bet is to get on eBay UK and see if you can find a first-gen or second-gen LGA 1151 board in good shape. Chipset doesn't so much matter with an i5-6600 as long as it's a three-digit chipset starting with 1 or 2. Should be fairly simple to find an ok H110M board with real heatsink cooling for 50 GBP, especially if you're willing to go without a backplate.

Quite happy for it to be a basic motherboard.  Will only be running Elder Scrolls Online @ 2560x1080 @ 60hz, with most if not all of the storage handled by the NAS, and I don't mind plugging in another lan card.

It's not the motherboard's ability to be concerned with. It's longevity. Lots of those bottom-tier boards have no chipset cooling and use garbage VRMs, just in case you want to make that power delivery bang a little louder. You can mitigate that somewhat with a downward-firing cooler (like the Intel stock cooler), but heatsinks are always better. You might get those on an eBay board.
