Is this a dead pixel?

I bought a new monitor and it has some minute grey dot permanently present. Though it is not noticeable, I'm afraid that it will become worse. Is that one on the images called the dead pixel?

it shouldnt get worse faster than a monitor that doesnt start out with any dead pixels

 

I think you need 3 of these faults before they will replace it

maybe it's just a lazy pixel thet just needs a bit rubbing

'Dead' ..no .. defective' ..yes. It looks like the LCD subpixels are working but the backlight isnt getting through properly.

Yes, I doubted that because that pixel is just dim.

You can try massaging it, but i wouldn't hold my breath on fixing it.
