Help. Pc keeps restarting on first boot. Assuming it’s a motherboard deficiency.

Hey. My pc keeps doing this after its first boot. Assuming it’s a motherboard deficiency (Mayyybe a PSU thing?) and the fans aren’t even  moving, and I need major help.

Can you boot into bios? Any OC applied? System specs?

It's a brand new build, first post. Nothing has happened yet.

You want to clear cmos. 

there's 2 pins lower right hand side of the board. 

jump them for 10-15 seconds. 

If there is a jumper on the two pins, remove it (shouldn't be a jumper there)

after clear cmos, try again.

Z370 and Z390 Asus boards do sometimes restart a couple of times like that.

If it does, and the 3rd or 4th time it should stay on and running. It's part of the system self check and hopefully that's all it is.

Nah it's ok. There's another thread here, that he was trying to set up the PC. Was helping, but had to log off for a bit.

 

The board is a Z390 Aorus Master by gigabyte

 

If you have any suggestions, please do!! I'm not super familiar with Gigabyte. The manual for this board doesn't seem to come in english either.

I started the computer with these things in those plugs and it kept restarting, we waited 15 seconds before pulling them out tho

The 2 pins closest to the F_Panel is the cmos jumper. Straight directly below where it's printed Cmos.

Touch those 2 pins together for 10-15 seconds.

 

Not sure what I'm looking at in the second picture though.

I'm at work right now....but I've for a Z390 Aorus Master with a i7-8086K so...I can chip in later.

The upper 2-pins is for an optional temperature sensor.

The bottom is 2-pin is the Clear CMOS pins.

 

You don't need to use the two pins to clear the CMOS.

One rear I/O of the motherboard, there is literally a Clear CMOS button that you can just press.

 

 

I don't know WHY you would randomly just plug something into two unknown pins on a motherboard if you don't know what they do...
