I know a lot about computers and hardware but unfortunately I don't know much about networks.

The problem is I'm about to move to my girlfriend's apartment and she's living next to her father,

her father have Internet which he pays for and we want to connect to it but for some reason even though we live real close we can't find his signal.

Even if we'll find a connection I want it to be strong and steady so I can browse and study without any problem.

What is the most suggested and efficient way to do it?

(Obviously I don't mind invest some money into it)

I DON'T HAVE INTERNET INLET IN MY APARTMENT THEREFOR I CAN'T CONNECT ANY MODEM/ROUTER.

THANKS GUYS! ❤️

What distances are we talking about?

Run a cable if possible, its the best solution, or get another connection from a isp.

10 meters from his house?

Also, do you think the ISP provider will accept to connect another apartment without adding money?

Do you have a line of sight between the two that you can mount an device in?

You have to pay more for a second place from a isp, but thats the best solution here.

We share a fucking wall and I still have no signal.

Will point to point solution find the signal?

If you share the wall, can you run a cable between the two?

But since these are seprate units, you are much better off just buying anouther isp connection.

So this is two apartment rooms right next to each other.

Is the wall drywall or concrete/brick? You might be able to ask him to move the router closer to the wall.

I don't have any phone/internet wall inlet (in Israel it's the same), I can't connect any modem/router therefor I can't buy an ISP connection :(

You're not going to like it but that would be a wire.

Usually when you pay for a ISP line the installers give you a wire from the nearest junction point (likely the one the father is also connected to). It doesn't matter if you don't have a wire they would install a wire.

Only concern here is you'e renting. You'd likely have to clear it with the landlord before drilling any holes.

Free renting for now, the problem is if we drill and connect to his ISP what will happen when we leave?

You take your modem/router with you then the next rentee if they buy a plan from an ISP that uses the same line they won't have to pay for installation (some installations are free to begin with so you may not have to pay either).

Then wherever you go have a line put in and reconnect your modem/router.
