I’ve found as I age I like really strong flavors I would have absolutely loathed as a younger person.  Taste buds losing power I suspect. I remember blue cheese being inedible when I was a kid, but now it’s awesome.  I’ve developed a habit recently of mixing up a small pinch of garlic powder and wetting it with fish sauce and mixing in some powdered basil leaf and just licking it off my hand.

Give me a choice between soda, juice, beer, wine, coffee, tea, sparkling water, or plain water, and I'll pick plain water 95% of the time.

 

And sparkling water is anathema to me.
