Hi guys! I got my self a Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition 2014 for about $4 with issues. Some of the keys are double tapping and the esc key needs tons of pressure to kick in. I was just wondering if I can replace the Green Razer switches to some of my spare blue switches I have.

Use this spray or any kind of electronic contact spray.

Don't even have to unplug it, remove the key cap and spray it inside

If it's just the switches that have issues, yes. You should be fine with just normal Cherry MX style switches. Before desoldering and replacing the switches, you may want to check that it's actually just the switches, by bridging the contacts on the back of the PCB.

Thank you guys for all the inputs! I appreciate it. I'm not exactly what that means, do you mean to check the lines on the back of the pcb?

On the back of the PCB, behind a switch, you should find something like this.

When the switch is pressed and is working as intended, it connects the two points. You can use a pair of metal tweezers and touch both points at the same time to emulate this. If only the switch has issues, this should work as if you were pressing the switch.

@Mr.Chips Yes, do this. If connecting the points with tweezers works then replace the switch. You will need to desolder them. Don't just randomly spray your keyboard with contact cleaner.
