I have a ryzen 5 3550H laptop that came preinstalled with 4+4 gb ram configuration now i want to upgrade my ram config is 16gb+4gb an ideal config

I have a ryzen 5 3550H laptop that came preinstalled with 4+4 gb ram configuration now i want to upgrade my ram config is 16gb+4gb an ideal config or should I go with 8gb + 8gb..

Will the system support 16GB modules?

16GB+4GB is not ideal, only 4GB of your RAM will run in Dual Channel mode, get 2*8GB or 2*16GB.
