Should I Upgrade My Monitor?

ChrisPChicken

I built my pc almost 3 years ago with an Intel core i5-7600k and a GTX 1070 but I have a 1080p 60hz Acer monitor. The PC can run games at max settings but it's limited to 60FPS by my monitor and I'm pretty sure it can get more. Would it be a good idea to upgrade my monitor?

Depends on what you play. If its csgo definity, 144hz is amazing for competive shooters. If you dont then maybe a 1440p monitor upgrade.

It is not your monitor limiting the fps, it is your setting of vsync. You can disable vsync synchronization in the nvidia control panel (no idea how it's called) and/or in the gamesettings of the very game.

I doubt he's in e-sports, otherwise he would have had this question a lot sooner.
