RAM "lagging"-

I have just a hp prebuilt and have crappy samsung ram (8*1, and 4*1, at 1333 and cas 21 or 23 ddr3 laptop RAM). recently the latency of the ram went from like 100-200 ms response to like 700-900. Nothing really new happened... Help?s uggestions for new ram? I game on this, but plan on making a major upgrade, like 4950x and 3080ti watercooled pretty soon, maybe this time next year.

I got that part I was more so questioning the hardware speculation. In my opinion the only thing you can really do is grab a 16GB 2x8GB 1600mhz DDR3 kit off of Amazon or somewhere, maybe an SSD if you don't already have one. It's an old laptop, not worth doing anything else to it.

I'm saving up kind of slowly. My entire setup would be around 7k or so... yeah overkill coming from hd 4000 graphics, but I don't want to comprimise, and spring for something at around 3.5k- my savings right now. But I don't know what to do besides replace the RAM. I got an ssd insted of a 2.5' hdd, but I can't replace the cpu with anything that makes sense, because of the outdated socket/mobo, and the mobo form factor is one-of-a-kind. I'm kind of worried about the psu (it's like a 350 watt thing in the base of my all in one pc, but I can;t acess it, it has a custom design, and It prob. cost HP $20 to make/buy) The only thing I realisticly could do is to go from a i7-4785t to a 4790S, but that's... Kind of a waste of $350, or get a budget EGPU that I'll sue for like 1 year than throw away (gpu and external bay). So... yeah

It's a peice of 6-7 year old samsung ram that was produced for like $7 a pop and then put into a 1k prebuilt. Seriously, it takes nearly a second, or more than that sometimes to respond. I userbenched it and it's health was at 3%. Ther's literally no airflow in my "case", and the ram temps regualrly exceed 70 c while uncovered, open to air for some reason.

if you can even check it's "health", that's an SSD or HDD and not RAM.

Is this with a fresh OS? If so check memtest and make sure its even stable pretty sure that memory is bad.

Userbench. It provideds health for everything. Relitive preformance compared to the same stick of RAM, in a different system. So mine is in the bottom 3rd percential. So yeah not exactly "health" but userbenchmarks version

The cpu or Ram? The cpu has a limiter opf like 68 C

why that limiter? the CPU should normally be allowed to go to 95C before it throttles

Becuase it's a loked i7-4785t designed to go into a laptop, not a desktop. If it went into a laptop and someone had it on their lap- and it got up to 95c, what do you think would happen?
