chrome Throttling

So just last period my school assigned dell chromebook 11 P22T began getting very hot very very hot.  I then began experiencing thermal throttling and then the whole thing just froze and kept getting hotter and hotter until i held refresh and power.  But here's the confusing part all that was open was language live and amazon.  Note nothing was covering the passive exhaust or intake.

and the system has little to no dust.  Pls help the repair for damage at school is like more than the thing is worth.

That does seem odd. If it's the school's and you didn't do anything to break it, isn't that their problem?

ha but us students must pay for it after the 3rd repair and mine has had 3 repairs.

Did the school not give you the option of insurance? Mine did while I was going, and it saved me from having to pay a ton.

Besides, if nothing's actually damaged, they really shouldn't be charging you.

they will just assume its user damage or modification it's happened to some of the kids here

In that case I would try to convince them it is some manufacturing issue or you got a bad unit and that they should send it to dell under the manufacturing warranty

You can try re-pasting the CPU, more than likely that is the issue. In my personal opinion doing repairs on Chromebooks isn't the best idea because usually you can just buy a new one for cheaper than the repair.
