It does not. AMD freesync is only supported on AMD graphics cards (eg RX5700, RX590, Vega64, etc.) Nvidia GPUs support G-Sync, so you might want to look for a monitor with that.

At that price point though, I would save up a tiny bit more and get a budget AMD GPU like the RX570 instead of getting a 1050ti. It's kind of an aging card and soon you will not be able to play AAA titles at reasonable framerates anymore.

Do I need a display port cable to enable free sync

While the GTX 1050 Ti doesn't support FreeSync, that's not true for all Nvidia GPUs.

The RTX series enables FreeSync support on certain monitors.

Yes, Pascal and Turing (1000 AND 2000 series NVIDIA cards) support FreeSync on the monitors that say "GSync Compatible".

You're completely wrong.

Yes it does, any nVidia 1000 series and newer supports Freesync through DisplayPort.

Freesync is AMD's marketing name for Adaptive Sync which nVidia started supporting on Pascal and newer, the only caveat is that it only works with Display Port while AMD supports it with both HDMI and Display Port.

The 1000 series cards and newer support freesync.

Yes there are certified displays, no those aren't the only displays they work on.

Reference this spreadsheet to check if the monitor in question has support:

Gsync is what you’re gonna see in the panel. So it doesn’t matter what it’s called or by who when you look and only see one thing.
Just so people are confused looking for another name.
