I think thermal monitoring technologies is a feature for overheating purposes, and not about physically reading the temperatures.   It's usually all read by the Motherboard.

 

Sometimes if you plug in the CPU fan in the wrong port, some software won't detect the Fan RPM speed, but you should still get temp readings

I have an old i5 660 and it doesn't have the thermal monitoring technology and thermal paste so how do I know it's temperature.

I played many games like Far Cry new dawn, far cry 5, assasin's creed origins and never got a blue screen.

Should i do something about it?

What software did you try to check its temperature?

The i5 660 has a temperature sensor though, have you tried HWiNFO?

The BIOS will have the temps.   Not sure if it's still free, but if you get a hold of SiSoft Sandra, that will give you readings in Windows

The program I used is cpu-z or gpu-z

neither of them can do it on any CPU. Use HWinfo in sensor mode or Core temp
