I had my phone (Motorola G6) plugged in overnight to an extension lead but when I woke up and went to check my phone it didn't turn on. I tried the fingerprint sensor and power button but nothing. When I went to check the charger I noticed that it was half unplugged; I don't know how long it had been like this but could this have caused my problems? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I've had my phone plugged in for about another 10-15 minutes to see if it just wasn't charged and I just felt the phone and it's already quite warm. Does this mean anything?

Your phone is just dead?

Plug it in and wait 10 mins, does it turn on then?

Half-plugged in charger should cause no issues.

Does display or notification light light-up when you plug-in the charger ? If yes then try unplugging it first and then powering on, otherwise smth went in it have failed, it's unlikely that it's because the charger was half-plugged in tho. It's just that time did it's thing, what a shame !

Look at the charging port itself on the phone, does it appear damaged in any way? Sometimes after so many inserts the contacts can wear off or it can be damaged. Try a different charger and different cable, a different outlet and a PC and see if you have any luck. If all those fail you may have just experienced the death of a battery. Rare, but they do occur.
