If you want to play those games you're better off getting something used, or a console. $500 is going to get you fuck all.

Xbox one x is the most powerful pc at $500. In all seriousness, a decent "gaming" pc for under $1000 is difficult, I know that you could get something used for around $300 and toss a gpu in and call if good enough, for Fortnite, but CoD needs newer parts and more importantly that that, more powerful parts.

CPU: Intel core i7-8086K Case: CORSAIR Crystal 570X RGB CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO RGB Storage: Samsung 980 Pro - 2TB NVMe SSD PSU: EVGA 1000 GQ, 80+ GOLD 1000W, Semi Modular GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X 8G RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4 3200mhz Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E Gaming

If you go used route, you can fit a cheapo 1080p monitor into this budget as well as a super basic mouse and keyboard. Not glamorous, but functional, and the rig is the important part, giving you a solid motherboard, case, and power supply for easy upgrades in the future.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You would need to cut down the storage/ram but the trade off is a better CPU and GPU. Both can be had on eBay at anytime for those prices.

You wouldn't get much value, going brand new route. I'll rather recommend going used.

Search your local Craigslist and fb marketplace.

Something like this would be great and will have a great upgrade path.

GPU - Get something like a GTX 980ti / 1070 / 1070ti / Vega 56. They all go around $170-200 range.

CPU - Get something like a Ryzen 5 2600. I have seen a couple of them going for $70-80 in the used market. Or else you can get it for $80 from AliExpress with free international shipping. Ryzen 5 1600 AF is another option. It is available on amazon.com for $85.

Mobo - Get a cheapo b450 motherboard that can get the job done. I'll recommend a asrock b450 pro4 and MSI b450 pro vdh max. They go for around $75 brand new.

RAM - Get a 16gb 3000/3200mhz kit for around $50. You can get it used for even cheaper.

Storage - For now get a cheapo SSD. you can add in a HDD later on.

Case - You can easily get away with a cheapo $10 case.

PSU - Currently the CX 550 is going on for $39.99 on amazon.com which is a pretty good deal in my opinion.

Peripherals - Keyboard and mouse combos can be had for $10-15.

Monitor - Get a used 1080p 144hz monitor. They go for around $100 used.
