Can't type in Win10 but the keyboard is still working [SOLVED]

I know it sounds weird but I have a problem on my Surface Go

When I try to type on Windows Start menu, File Explorer or some MS Office apps nothing happens, but the keyboard (Typecover) works perfectly with my browser, acrobat reader, outlook, WIN key and Win shortcuts (Win+R, Ctrl+Alt+Del, ..)

 

Earlier this week I deactivated the "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service" because the screen keyboard kept popping up every time I touched the screen with my hand while trying to write with the pen.

 

I just tried re-enabling the service and it's actually working again. Guess I'll have to find another way around this annoying software keyboard....

 

I post this anyway because I didn't find anything on the internet and it may be helpful for someone.
