I ordered all my parts yesterday, everything but the case is arriving tomorrow (the case is expected to be here in the 21st)

I tried to call newegg to see if they could cancel the deliver but they told me that "there's nothing they could do once the label is made"

I really don't want to wait to use my computer for a week, is there anything I could do? Like, have the mobo box as a stand for all the parts? Or is that really unsafe?

As long as there is no chance anyone/anything disrupts the PC, there is not really a reason not to use the PC on the motherboard box.

What I meant by that, is if you have a cat roaming around the house, that might not be ideal with a PC exposed. Or if you have people walking around it.. etc.

Also, with static electricity, normally your entire case is grounded, but now you will have bare components that wont be grounded in all places though. So that could be an issue?

But I have seen many people run a PC 'barebones' without a case, so as long as you are careful with that, you should be fine.

shouldnt everything that should be grounded is grounded through the power supply?

as Minibois has said. There is nothing stopping you from using the pc out of a case. The pc case is more a protection from normal things like fingers, animals, water splashes. Also having a nice ground through the pc case. It will be alot more dirty looking as it will pick up alot more airborne dirt/contaminants. People do nice wall builds where they technically dont have a case and test benches are bare bone machines.
