First of all, good job building your first PC, it can be scary the first time, but the most important thing is to breathe and dont stress, take your time!

Regarding the question you asked, if you are in any doubt about the paste, just start over

-Remove cooler

-Clean of ALL the old paste on both cooler and CPU

-Apply new paste, just about the size of a pea (apply it to the CPU)

-Mount cooler and connect fan

-Happy gaming!

PS: never start the PC without any paste applied

Hello! So I fuck up screwing the wraith cooler in my mobo, So i have to undo all the screwing. So i kinda peeked a little at the bottom of the cpu and picked it up slightly to see if I have putted it in the wrong side. So i'm worried that the air bubbles might suddenly pop up in my cpu just because of the that. Don't want anything to happen to this lol

Or maybe i am paranoid?

Well you are slightly paranoid ?

You should change thermal paste in theory but you will be good, don’t stress over it too much atm. When you find some spare time just get new tp. Just make sure you screw the cooler properly and don’t look underneath anymore

@Whiro tag or quote will do the trick

Steam Deck OLED 512gb , all other pc’s are gone

No.  Well maybe I guess.  It would take tons of work.  You need to get ALL the paste off.  Every last tiny bit.  Not even a hint it was ever there.  You can do it with cloth to get it almost gone but it’s diminishing returns.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

The difference in my case is that i wiped a fresh paste. I never really tried to boot up using the paste that i booted up. does that makes a difference? I think there are nothing left on the surface

Nope. I removed the pea sized paste using a cloth and done my best wiping them. I got kinda scared and decided not to use my other cooler as I need a lot of force to be able to latch on the bracket. I used the stock for the meantime and it has paste on it

Thanks man! One wrong move and good bye my precious components haha. But I'm kinda stuck with the cooler now i backed out because the cooler i bought required a lot of pressure. So naturally i got scared and decided to got stock

Which cooler did you buy? the wraith cooler should be pretty straight forward

The Stealth is what I'm using rn. The one I'm talking about is the gammax coolers. S40 specifically for some reason they need a considerable amount of force to latch in the bracket. Being the newb i was, i kinda hesitated to extend a force worried i might break my cpu

Aha, I see!

I hope the PC turns out the way you want it to, and that the mounting of the cooler goes to planned!

Enjoy your selfbuilt rig!
