Beyerdynamic Headphone Question

thvSPARK

I've been looking for a new headset for a while now, and have heard tons of good things about the Beyerdynamic headphones.

I'm currently using a pair of original Razer Kraken headphones (the run where the earcups came in six different colors or so), and I like their sound.

For the Beyerdynamics, which ones can I plug straight into my computer or into my Behringer UM2?

What's the difference between 32, 80, and 250 Ohm?

Price range is around $150

What would you guys recommend? Do I even upgrade?

The cable terminates in 3.5mm audio jack and has 1/4 adapter, so I wouldn't worry about where it can plug into. Higher ohm ones are generally harder to drive. If you like the sound of Razer headphones, I don't think you should be looking into beyerdynamic dts..

I was more asking what my motherboard would be able to power, not physical compatibility.

Also, why should I not go for Beyerdynamics? Would I be paying for sound quality I wouldn't appreciate?

250ohm maybe your motherboard can't handle(i don't have hands on experience). It's not that beyerdynamics sound bad, it's just that you may find them too treble oriented.

so it depends on what models you are trying to buy if you want the 770 the 250 ohm might  be able to be powered fine but hard to say

but for the 880 and 990 80 and 32 ohms are the safest bets

I think the 80ohm is a good compromise.

Do you have any quality headphone recommendations for a bassier feel?

I usually refrain from recommending the ATH-M50x. However, it may work for you in this case.

V-moda crossfade can work too.

will say the 250 ohm 770 might be pretty quite still.  but 80 ohm is better bet

so a low impedance easy to power headphjone would be the Beyerdynamic custom one pro plus its a 16 ohm heapdhone similar tuning to the 770

onther option for a nice bassy can is the one more triple driver over ears

if you want to spend less  money the BLOn B8 and Creative aurvana live the originals not the 2 are a good option as well

How much different do the M50x's sound from the M30x's? When I tried my brother's 30's, at least in games, they sounded "weaker"

the m50 is a better headphone. but has poretty shrill highs abd the bass is much stronger than the m30. but it's a headphone I would avoid

What are your thoughts on something more gaming specific like the SteelSeries Arctis Pro with the GameDAC? Seems like you could do a lot of tweaking to your preferences

Eh for the price not worth it at all

Alright, now I'm swinging between the 770's and 990's (Both PRO, 80 Ohms)

I can always find some way to tweak EQ, right?

What's the difference between all the versions?

Which one would you say is closer to the Razer Kraken?

Sorry for all the questions, but this is my second time buying a headset, with the first being the Kraken around 5 years ago.

I'm also not seeing anywhere to test the Beyerdynamics, so I'm trying to be thorough.

Watch out for Beyers. They can be fatiguing due to their treble oriented sound signature.

If you live in Canada just drive to Visions electronics. Seriously. You won’t find a better place to buy audio gear. As far as bassy headphones go, lookout for the AKG by Tiesto headphones. You might find them on clearance somewhere for dirt cheap.
