I have an HP 14s-dk0002AX laptop, with Ryzen 3 3200U, a Vega 3 iGPU, and a Radeon 530 dGPU. I have 12GB DDR4 2400Mhz RAM (8+4, horrible for dual channels, I know), and a 512GB SSD attached to a SATA 3. I am planning to buy an ADT-Link M.2 to PCIe riser to attach to my M.2, then attach a GTX 1050 to it as an eGPU. I've already disabled the dGPU in Windows' drivers manager since Vega 3 gives me better performance. Is this viable without an external monitor, or even viable at all? Thank you!

I don't think that it would work with an external monitor (I could be wrong, I haven't looked at this concept in a while). I also don't think that it's worth it to do this at all. Your laptop can run e-sports titles on low settings (look up LowSpecGamer optimizations if necessary), and if you want to do more just build a dedicated PC or get a laptop upgrade. Your laptop is cheap for a reason, don't turn it into a money pit.

I wouldn't bother. You're not going to get decent performance out of a GTX 1050.

If the Vega gives you better performance why would you even bother.
