Time to upgrade from a GTX970, any suggestions?

Time to upgrade from a GTX970.

 

600.00 (U.S. Currency) budget and due to Christmas gift cards it had to be from Amazon.

 

Any suggestions?

Only really 2 options. 2070 super or a 5700xt. Which will compete with a 2070s if you're willing to do some bios tweaking etc.

The one that fits your budget best. They're all based on the same architecture. And brand to brand differences are only a few mhz here and there. Personally I prefer founders cards as they have the best looking coolers. But you can only get them from NVIDIA themselves.

I would recommend the Strix variant of the 2070 for the better cooler.

I got a strix 590 for Christmas and it runs about 15 degrees c less than my 570 armor I had previously.

EVGA XC gaming/ultra are pretty good.

They are around 20-30$ ($520-$530) more than MSRP, but the cooling performance is pretty good.

 

Or if you really want, FTW3 is better in cooling. It is 80$ above MSRP ($580), though.
