theres a severe cpu bottleneck happening,

i highly recommend just 2x8 cl16 3200 sticks for 75usd atm.

or get the same stick that u already have, but try to run them at 2400 or 2666.

Hi, today I bought a new Asus RTX2060 TUF 6GB. In rainbow 6 siege I get on average 110fps at low settings with 50% render scale. my GTX1060 was able to achieve the same performance except it was running at medium settings at 50% render scale. I ran superposition benchmark and got a score of 4183. The new card also runs at 81 degrees... is there any way I can fix this? before you ask, I am using my GPU and not integrated GPU. would increasing my ram fix this? I currently have 1 8gb stick at 2133MHZ DDR 4. the rest of my specs :

CPU: i7-7700

GPU: RTX 2060 6GB

RAM: corsair value 8gb 2133MHZ CL15 DDR4 (1x8gb)

PSU: 600w

MOBO: B250M Mortar Motherboard - MSI

Fix: 16gb dual channel ram fixed FPS issue and added exhaust fans to cool down gpu which has made some difference

110fps

a few things:

  • what resolution are you playing at?
  • what FPS do you get when playing at medium settings on your 2060?
  • whats your case/ build like? as 81°C seems a little on the high side i wonder what's your caseventilation is like
  • what do your CPU and GPU usage look like? (i guess on low settings your CPU might be high and your GPU might be low?)

Have you tried checking MSI afterburner? Are you on the auto fan curve?

If your are reaching 81 degrees at stock speeds, even at default fan curves, your case ventilation is far from ideal.

At lower res and lower rendering qualities, the fps counter is likely bottlenecked by your cpu, not gpu. Experiment using both the 1060 and 2060 on high Settings and see what happens.

8gb of ram is clearly another bottleneck. Add another 8gb.

Yeah I have, when the temp is capped at 83 degrees, the fans run at 75% which doesn’t cool it, but keeps it at around 80. The fans are auto

I am playing at 1080p

at medium settings I was getting the same FPS as before with little difference

when I was playing just then my pc did not go up to 80 degrees but stayed around 73ish.

with usage, my cpu was staying between 80%-95% even at high and low settings while my gpu was at 55%.

Dude,  idk what is up with your settings (why so low?)  but you should get over 200fps with high settings 1080p.

Let's just start over lol, DDU your drivers in safe mode,  reinstall them.  Do not change anything in the driver settings.

Next reset your games settings to default.  Turn off vsync and then check your fps.

Something seems seriously off here.

Additionally you may post your TIMESPY benchmarks here...  Saves everyone a whole lot of troubleshooting and guessing in the dark tbh.

Here’s how my pc was running on preset high settings, gpu has been running a bit cooler but does reach 83 degrees. Ignore frames as they happen to be high. Cpu also reaches +80%

I am not sure about how your card looks, but hardware Unboxed did a review of Asus TUF 5700xt and it had even higher temps especially the ram modules.

Might be the issue their design itself.
