Hello all,

I am looking to set up a VPN server at home, as I want to be able to be able to access my home network from anywhere. I do have an OpenWRT router that would allow me to set up a VPN server, I believe, but I rather do this on a dedicated server, which will be hosted in a Hyper-V server. I haven't done any research, but I would like to know what you guys recommend for running a VPN server at home. Should I do this on a Windows Server machine, are there any Linux distros for this?

Many thanks,

Bruno.

I like wireguard, works well, pretty simple to setup and use. Id use linux for this, unless you need the windows remote access server.

Does it really matter which Linux distribution I use?
